Four Days of WindEnergy with a Strong Tailwind
When the international wind industry comes together, Hamburg is the perfect venue. Wind is part of the city’s identity. For us, as a Hamburg-based company, WindEnergy felt like a home game.
We were represented at our joint booth alongside the other companies in the 8.2 Group for four days. During this time, the diversity of expertise within our group became apparent, as did the strength of our joint presence when different perspectives come together in one place.
We had something new to share: our ESG certificate.
One might think that sustainability is a given in the wind energy sector. However, having sustainable products or technologies does not necessarily make a company sustainable. This is precisely the area in which our ESG certificate comes into play. It enables companies to communicate their sustainability efforts and demonstrate them based on specific criteria.
WindEnergy was the perfect venue for us to present this new approach to a broad audience of industry professionals for the first time. This event brings together turbine manufacturers, operators, service providers and many other industry players. Most importantly, it’s where you meet the companies and individuals who are actively taking the next steps in the energy transition.
That’s why the face-to-face meetings were so valuable. Some companies were already in contact with us before the trade show, while we met others in person for the first time in Hamburg. Rather than collecting business cards, we focused on understanding: What are companies currently concerned with? Where does sustainability actually rank on their agenda? And how can we make a concrete contribution through our work?
These are exactly the kinds of conversations we take back with us to the office.
Our ESG certificate has now been at the trade show for a few days. For us, however, the real work has only just begun.
And this time, the perfect tailwind came straight from #Hamburg.
