Type B Plant Certificate “Subject to Conditions”: Important Change Effective January 1, 2026
At the beginning of 2026, a significant change in the area of certification took effect: As of January 1, 2026, the Type B plant certificate “subject to conditions” no longer exists in this form.
Since Certification GmbH has regularly issued this type of certificate in the past, we would like to inform our clients transparently about the changes and their implications for pending or submitted applications.
What has changed?
As of January 1, 2026, Type B plant certificates can no longer be issued “subject to conditions”.
This means that, starting in 2026, conditional certification will no longer be possible, regardless of whether the projects are new or expansions.
What will happen to certificates issued in 2025?
All Type B plant certificates “subject to conditions” issued in 2025 that were created through December 31, 2025, inclusive will, of course, continue to be properly processed in the declaration of conformity.
However, systems that are currently undergoing certification can no longer be certified subject to conditions and must obtain a standard Type B certificate.
To sum it up: The current procedures will stay the same and will be carried out as usual.
If you have any questions about ongoing proceedings or how your application is being processed, we are, of course, here to help. Our team will be happy to assist you in resolving your specific issue.
